कुठूनही यथायोग्य उत्तर नाही

चंद्रपूर : शहरातील रेल्वे स्थानकावरील रेल्वेच्या फलकावर चंद्रपूर शहराची समुद्रसपाटीपासूनची असलेली उंची 361.800 मीटर इतकी दर्शवलेली आहे. तर चंद्रपूर शहरातीलच चांदाफोर्ट या रेल्वे स्थानकावर समुद्रसपाटीपासूनची उंची 188.33 मीटर इतकी दाखवली आहे. एकाच शहरातील दोन वेगवेगळ्या उंची दर्शविलेल्या आहेत. याबाबत गेल्या दोन वर्षापासून येथील जनता महाविद्यालयातील भूगोलाचे प्राध्यापक योगेश दुधपचारे यांनी रेल्वे विभाग आणि संबंधित अन्य विभागांशी संपर्क साधला असता, त्यांना अद्याप यथायोग्य उत्तर मिळालेले नाही.

चंद्रपूर शहरातील रेल्वे स्थानकापासून तर चांदाफोर्ट स्थानकापर्यंतचे अंतर फक्त 2.5 किलोमीटर इतके कमी आहे. परंतु, या दोन स्थानांच्या उंचीतील फरक 173.47 मीटर इतका दाखवला आहे. चंद्रपुरकरांना त्यांच्या शहराची नेमकी उंची किती? असा प्रश्न त्यांना पडला आहे. सर्वे ऑफ इंडिया च्या टोपोग्राफिकल नकाशावर आजही चंद्रपूर रेल्वे स्थानकाची उंची 189.00 मीटर इतकीच दर्शविलेली आहे. स्टेशन मास्टर चंद्रपूर आणि बल्लारशाह यांना आपल्या चंद्रपूर रेल्वे स्थानकाच्या बोर्डवरची माहिती चुकलेली आहे, ती या रेल्वेच्या फलकावर आधी 189.00 मीटर इतकी होती, असे दुधपचारे यांनी दोन वर्षांपूर्वीच निदर्शनात आणून दिले होते. परंतु, नागपूर येथील विभागीय कार्यालयातून निर्देश असल्याने आम्ही ते तसे लिहिले, असे बल्लारशाह येथील स्टेशन मास्टर यांनी सांगितले होते.

यानंतर दुधपचारे यांनी माहितीचे अधिकारात अचानक 361.800 मीटर इतकी कशी वाढली, याबद्दलची विचारणा केली असता, आम्ही कोणतीच उंची बदलविली नाही, चंद्रपूर रेल्वे स्थानकाची उंची 361.800 मीटर इतकीच आहे, असे उत्तर त्यांना देण्यात आले. त्यानंतर त्यांनी भारतीय सर्वेक्षण विभागाने मात्र चंद्रपूरची उंची 189.00 मीटर इतकीच असून, रेल्वेने आमच्याशी चंद्रपूरच्या उंची बद्दल कोणतीही विचारणा केली नाही, असे लेखी उत्तर दिले आहे. शेवटी रेल्वेच्या अधिकार्‍यांनी शपथपत्रात चंद्रपूरच्या बदललेल्या उंचीबद्दल आमच्याकडे कोणतेच कागदपत्र उपलब्ध नाही. चंद्रपूरची समुद्रसपाटीपासूनची उंची 361.800 मीटर इतकीच आहे, अशी माहिती रेल्वेच्या वतीने देण्यात आली, अशी माहिती दुधपचारे यांनी दिली.

The elevation of Chandrapur city above sea level is indicated as 361,800 meters on the railway board at the railway station in the city.  At Chandafort railway station in Chandrapur city, the height from the sea level is shown as 188.33 meters.  Two different elevations are shown in the same city.  Yogesh Dudhapchare, Professor of Geography at Janata College here, contacted the Railway Department and other related departments about this for the last two years, but he still did not get a proper reply.

The distance from Chandrapur city railway station to Chandafort station is less than 2.5 km.  But, the height difference between these two places is shown as 173.47 meters.  What is the exact height of their city Chandrapurkar?  They have a question.  Even today, the elevation of Chandrapur railway station is shown as 189.00 meters on the topographical map of Survey of India.  Dudhapchare had pointed out two years ago that station masters Chandrapur and Ballarshah had missed the information on the board of their Chandrapur railway station, which was earlier 189.00 meters on the board of this railway.  But, as the divisional office at Nagpur instructed us, we wrote it like that, the station master at Ballarshah had said.

After this, when Dudhapchare asked about how the RTI suddenly increased to 361.800 meters, he was told that we have not changed any height, the height of Chandrapur railway station is the same as 361.800 meters.  After that, he has given a written reply that Survey Department of India, however, says that the height of Chandrapur is 189.00 meters and the Railways has not asked us about the height of Chandrapur.  Finally we do not have any document about the change in elevation of Chandrapur in the affidavit of the railway officials.  Chandrapur's height from sea level is 361,800 meters, information was given on behalf of the railways, said Dudhapachere.
